Circuit Bent Boombox (no 2 of 2)
demo: https://youtu.be/TOr7jZ-nMu0
This humble Baby Einstein Boombox toy has been transformed into a sonic monster! The circuits within the toy have been modified to allow the device’s simple sounds to be reshaped into squeaking frenetic stuttering chirps, harsh gravelly electronic growls, and streams of wonderful manic nonsense.
Without mods active, the toy behaves just as it would out of the box.
Instead of installing knobs and switches onto the boombox, I’ve added a transparent control panel into the space where the toy’s handle was located, from within which two UV LED's illuminate the decorative fluorescent polka dots.
Mods include:
SPEED control (+toggle switch): gives a full sweep from high-pitched beeps and blips to harsh rumble by turning the one-of-a-kind 3d-printed knob
LIGHT control (+toggle switch): allows the speed to be controlled using light!
STUTTER SONGS: when this switch is flipped, the toy begins quickly cycling through device’s songs for as long as the switch is ‘on’
STUTTER SFX: when activated, the toys begins quickly spitting out all of the SFX sounds that it knows for as long as the switch is ‘on’
Also sports a ¼” audio output and custom 3d-printed hardware and knobs
